Each year the Support Committee for the Alabama National Cemetery plans and coordinates the ceremony to lay live balsam wreaths on each and every grave. The mission of Wreaths Across America is to Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom. Volunteers are the beating heart of the program and work year-round to share this important mission and inspire others to join.
With fundraising support from the Support Committee fundraising group, Blue Star Salute Foundation fund raising group, military services organizations, companies, retiree groups, and other charitable organizations; Wreaths Across America (WAA) has become the largest event of the year at ALNC and one of the largest (attendance) holiday season events in the area. The 16th Annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday December 14, 2024 at 11:00 a m at the Alabama National Cemetery. Information on how you can volunteer will be posted on our blog and Facebook page.
ALNC continues to grow at a fast pace, therefore, fund raising is a year round endeavor as our need for wreaths grows, so please consider sponsoring a wreath. Please go to the "Donate Wreaths to ALNC" drop down page on this site for details on how to make a donation.
Many donate in memory of a decease veteran or in honor of a living veteran or active duty service member. Scroll down to view our Memory/Honor Banner for 2023 as well as our 2023 major donors and in-kind sponsors.
