The Alabama National Cemetery (ALNC) is the final resting place for thousands of our nations heros and a lasting tribute to the military service and sacrifice of those willing to lay down their lives for our freedom. A visit to this hallowed ground is a moving reminder of the debt of gratitude that we owe, not only to those resting within, but to their families for their sacrifice. ALNC occupies 479 acres of beautiful rolling wooded land which will serve more than 225,000 eligible patriots over the next 50 years. It is located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama next to The American Village near historic University of Montevallo, approximately six miles west of Interstate 65.
Burial in a national cemetery is open to all members of the armed forces who have met a minimum active duty service requirement and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, as well as certain family members.
